Co-Production is a values based approach to working together. It is about doing with people  and not to them.  It is about working together for better outcomes for everyone.

About

Hello, and welcome to my website. My name is Emma Pauley and I am passionate about

Co-Production. I am a parent, carer, sister, friend, designer and disability and carer equality campaigner changemaker. I hold strong beliefs around valuing people and working together for better outcomes that benefit all people.

My reason for starting this values based business is a very personal one. My beautiful youngest little girl MIllie was born with a very rare genetic condition called TUBA1a which means she lives with a range of complex health and care needs. This opened my eyes to the inequalities faced by disabled people and carers and as a result I am now determined to ensure that we live in a more inclusive and accessible society.

I believe that compassion and kindness matter and I believe that the best solutions are found in the sweet spot of disagreeableness where different views collide. I  believe that when we all come together from a range of different backgrounds and work together as equal partners towards a common goal the best solution(s) can be found. I believe it's in this space that meaningful growth and profound change happens. It is for this reason that I champion co-production. I believe that those who use services are best placed to help design what good support, and good practice looks like.

I hope you can join me on this journey and help me in my quest to make the world a place where we strive to treat all people with dignity, fairness and respect.

"Thank you so much for having us here today and allowing me to share our story of why we have chosen the kilt walk as our platform to raise awareness for PAMIS and what this wonderful charity means to our family!

My beautiful baby girl Millie is a whirlwind that lights up any room. She is a funny wee adventurer, risk taker, artist, teacher, sister, and friend. She has taught me more in her 6 years of life than I learned in my whole life before having her. She brings our family so much joy and happiness.

Over the course of her life my daughter has faced many health challenges due to her very rare TUBA 1a genetic diagnosis. And it wasn’t until we were thrust into the world of disability that I realised how inaccessible the world around us is. From doors that aren’t wide enough for a wheelchair to disabled toilets that aren’t big enough to even fit a wheelchair and a carer- with no nappy bins! Systematic barriers that prevent my family from accessing with ease the world around us. Barriers that prevent my daughter from experiencing many simple childhood joys that most people take for granted.

So, I am here today with my little team of heroes because I want to live in a Scotland where no one is left behind. Where every member of society is included, valued, and welcomed. I want to live in a Scotland where there are no barriers to inclusion. A Scotland where everyone is treated with dignity, fairness, and respect. A Scotland where choice and opportunity are available to all. So, we are here today walking for PAMIS, a little charity who is making a profound impact in terms of recognising the Equalities Act and practically implementing it.

PAMIS have done some wonderful work in helping Scotland become a more inclusive society- from changing places toilets to digital passports, courses, to inclusive events. PAMIS believes that when you design with disability in mind- everyone benefits!"

Testimonials

PAMIS, and I personally, have had the privilege of working with Emma, a dynamic and creative lady who has inclusion at the very heart of all that she does. I am not sure if she ever stops imagining and reframing how communities and the world in general could be more engaged, and I guess, kind, in their approach to ensuring that everyone feels welcomed, included and valued, but we are inspired by her ideas, enthusiasm and commitment to her values.

Emma is a completer finisher, organised and effective in her approach to work and can be relied upon to produce high-quality, well-presented products. Her art and design expertise is obvious and adds a professional approach to resources and content.

She challenges with support, and one can’t help getting caught up in her passionate approach to inclusion that, if we let her, would make the world a better place for us all to live in.

"Emma’s presentation was thought-provoking. It was obvious her comprehensive yet moving talk hit a nerve with the attendees of the event. I am confident in saying, she has likely changed the practice of at least one researcher in that room. I certainly learnt a lot from her. "
